Comprehensive Care During Pregnancy: Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a crucial stage in a woman’s life, and receiving proper care is essential to ensure the health of both the mother and the baby. Here at Prenatal Video, we offer you a complete guide on the necessary care during pregnancy.

Nutrition and Diet

  • Balanced Diet: It is essential to consume a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and dairy products. These foods provide the necessary nutrients for the development of the baby and the well-being of the mother.
  • Hydration: Drinking enough water is vital during pregnancy. Staying hydrated helps prevent problems such as constipation and dehydration.
  • Prenatal Supplements: Folic acid, iron, and calcium supplements are essential. Folic acid prevents neural tube defects, while iron and calcium support the development of the baby and the health of the mother.

Exercise and Physical Activity

  • Safe Routines: Activities such as walking, swimming, and prenatal yoga are highly recommended. These exercises help maintain cardiovascular health, improve mood, and prepare the body for delivery.
  • Precautions: Avoid high-impact activities or those that involve a risk of falling. Always consult with your doctor before starting any exercise routine.

Medical Care

  • Prenatal Visits: Regular visits to the doctor are essential to monitor the health of the baby and the mother. During these visits, the doctor will perform exams and tests to ensure that everything is progressing well.
  • Tests and Exams: These include blood tests, glucose tests, and ultrasounds to assess the baby’s development and detect any potential problems.

Emotional Well-Being

  • Stress Management: Techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, and participation in prenatal classes can help reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Emotional Support: Talking with family, friends, and other expectant parents can provide emotional support and ease worries.

Preguntas Frecuentes

Frequently Ask Questions

What is 2D ultrasound?

It is the traditional ultrasound that has been used for years. They are soundwaves that are used to create black and white images of your baby's bones, gender, heart, and movements that are seen during the ultrasound session.

What is 3D/4D

3D / 4D Live Ultrasound uses the same frequency as your doctor uses in the normal 2D ultrasound.

3D ultrasounds give you a much clearer and sharper look at your baby and you'll even get a sense of whether your little one has your nose or your partner’s.

A 3D ultrasound is performed like any other ultrasound. First, the technician will rub gel on your belly and then move a transducer across the area. The transducer directs the sound waves toward your uterus and the baby inside it, giving you a picture of your developing baby.

What is 5D/HD

It is a combination of high definition volume data with color and clarity that allow you to see the baby inside the womb.

When is the best time for 3D/4D/5D/HD

For best results we recommend to come in between 27 and 33 weeks.

After that, the quality of the ultrasound is no longer guaranteed due to the baby's size.

However, you are very welcome to come in. Babies at this stage are usually too big and squeeze into the uterus leaving us no room to work with. We will still try our best to get you the best pictures. In most cases we will get great images if the baby has great amniotic fluid and the placenta is no where near the face, but we will not know until the ultrasound. Remember that every woman and pregnancy is different, so whatever works with one may not work with the other.

What should I do prior to the ultrasound?

We recommend all patients to drink lots of water days prior to your appointment. About 64oz of water a day. We also advise you to have something sweet minutes prior to coming in.
