How to Choose the Right Ultrasound Package for Your Week

With several ultrasound options available, the easiest way to decide is to start with your week. Choosing an ultrasound package by week makes sure you see what your baby is ready to show, whether that is a heartbeat, a gender answer or a full, expressive face.

Below you will find each stage of pregnancy, the package that fits it and what is included, all with the prices and weeks we use at our Charlotte studio.

Very early: the SneakPeek Gender DNA Test (from 8 weeks)

If you cannot wait to know boy or girl, the SneakPeek Gender DNA Test is an early gender blood test available from 8 weeks. It costs $150, takes about 15 minutes and is cash only. It is not an ultrasound, so you will not see your baby, but it is a popular option for families who want an answer early.

7 to 40 weeks: First Peek for reassurance

First Peek (Peace of Mind), $59, uses 2D and is available from 7 to 40 weeks. In up to 10 minutes you can hear or see the heartbeat, check baby growth, weeks and due date and take home printed pictures.

15 to 22 weeks: Gender Reveal

Gender Reveal, $79, from 15 to 22 weeks, uses 2D/3D. In up to 15 minutes we work on gender determination or confirmation, you hear the heartbeat and take home printed pictures, plus digital pictures and full video. If your baby is in a good position, we include a sneak peek in 3D. You also get baby growth, weeks, due date and weight.

22 weeks and up: 5D Sneak Peek

5D Sneak Peek, $99, from 22+ weeks, is a 15 minute session with gender confirmation, heartbeat, 4 color 4x6 pictures, digital pictures and baby growth, weeks, due date and weight. It is a lovely first look at your baby's features in 5D.

At this stage the face is still a little lean, so it is perfect for a first meeting, and many families come back later for a longer session.

It is also a good choice if you have already had a gender visit and would like to see your baby's features without committing to a longer session, or if your schedule makes a shorter appointment easier.

27 weeks and up: Golden Memories and Mommy Bundle

From 27+ weeks, many babies have fuller cheeks, and this is when our longest face-focused sessions shine. Golden Memories, $129, offers 30 minutes of 5D/HD, gender confirmation, heartbeat, 6 color 4x6 pictures, digital pictures and full video, plus growth, weeks, due date and weight. You can add an 8K hyperrealistic image for $25.

The Mommy Bundle, $169, is our 5D/HD live experience: 25 to 30 minutes with everything in Golden Memories plus unlimited digital pictures, digital video, an 8K hyperrealistic image and a small bear with your baby's heartbeat (Heartbeat Bear). Both include our re-scan policy for cases where the face cannot be seen due to position, as determined by the technician.
